7 Habits Destroying Your Energy & Productivity

As a busy guy, you know that energy and productivity are critical to your success. Whether you're leading a team, managing a business, or trying to balance work and family life, you need to stay focused and motivated.

Unfortunately, there are several habits that can destroy your energy and productivity, making it harder for you to achieve your goals. Here are seven habits to watch out for:

  1. Skipping Meals

You may think that skipping meals will save you time and help you stay focused, but in reality, it can leave you feeling tired and irritable. Make sure to fuel up with healthy meals and snacks throughout the day, including protein, healthy fats, and complex carbohydrates.

  2. Not Drinking Enough Water

Dehydration can sap your energy and leave you feeling fatigued. Make sure to drink plenty of water throughout the day, especially during and after workouts.

  3. Sitting Too Much

Sitting for long periods can lead to poor posture, tight muscles, and decreased energy levels. Make a conscious effort to stand up and move around every hour, even if it's just for a few minutes. Getting in a short walk after every meal is a good move.

  4. Multitasking

While it may seem like multitasking is the key to getting more done, it can actually be counterproductive. Studies have shown that multitasking can decrease productivity and increase stress levels. Instead, focus on one task at a time and give it your full attention. Also STOP taking on more than you can handle.

  5. Not Getting Enough Sleep

Sleep is critical for energy and productivity. Aim for seven to eight hours of sleep each night, and try to establish a consistent sleep schedule.

  6. Drinking Too Much Caffeine

While caffeine can provide a temporary energy boost, consuming too much can lead to jitters, anxiety, and a crash in energy levels. Limit your intake of coffee, energy drinks, and other caffeinated beverages. 2 cups of coffee, both consumed before noon, is ideal.

  7. Not Taking Breaks

Taking breaks throughout the day can help you recharge and increase productivity. Whether it's a quick walk around the block or a few minutes of deep breathing, make sure to take time for yourself.

By avoiding these seven habits, you can improve your energy and productivity, which will make it easier to get workouts in, eat quality food, and show up on top of your game in your career & your family.
